Building a Brighter Future

2013 sees the launch of the Government??s eagerly-awaited Renewable Heat Incentive (RHI) scheme, aimed at delivering its promise that 12 per cent of the UK??s heat will come from renewable energy sources by 2020.

Now Terra Therma, one of the UK??s leading heating and renewable energy specialists, has opened the doors to its ground-breaking demonstration Eco House to showcase renewable technologies.

Designed and built by Terra Therma in collaboration with the UK??s leading renewables manufacturers, the two-storey Eco House shows interactive working examples of the latest innovations in renewable heating technology. The innovative Eco House was created in response to the many frequently-recurring questions and concerns architects and developers have when considering implementing these exciting new technologies in to a design. Dimensions, noise levels and speed of operation are some of the most common areas of concern and visitors are able to view the systems?? inner workings, and see working examples, giving them a real feel for how the products perform.

Architects, who are considering incorporating the latest developments into their designs, can see the latest innovations in glazing, lighting, dry screed flooring systems, air-to-water heat pumps and underfloor heating on show. A variety of eco-friendly insulation types are also on display, including lamb??s wool, hemp and recycled plastic bottles and visitors can view real time thermal readings and even have a go at fitting some underfloor heating in one of the Eco House rooms.
