RIBA approved storage design CPD

Architects looking to improve their understanding about designing storage can now undertake a RIBA-approved CPD course led by Link 51, one of the UK??s largest manufacturers and suppliers of workplace storage solutions.??Design with Storage in Mind ?? a Specifiers Guide is a new one-hour seminar that demonstrates the importance of incorporating appropriate high quality storage into the design of a building at the earliest opportunity.?? ??

Tom Roy, Specification Sales Manager at Link 51 says: ?The seminar covers such topics as best practice and industry standards, as well as common pitfalls and design solutions to ensure that space is used effectively. Is the building’s function to provide storage or does the storage need to maximise an available space? Are there existing structural elements which need to be considered or do the items to be stored require specific environmental conditions? These are some of the key considerations when choosing a storage system.???? ??

?With our expertise in the design and manufacture of such a wide range of shelving, pallet racking and locker solutions, across many sectors, it was an obvious step to offer this CPD course as part of our learning tools for architects and designers,?? adds Simon Baugh, Link 51??s Marketing Director.?? ??

?Project costs that overrun can so easily be avoided by considering storage requirements at an earlier stage in the design process. Factors such as ceiling heights, floor construction, lighting and ventilation can all impact on building design and cost.????

??The CPD seminar has been designed by Link 51 to inform the industry on the correct specification of storage schemes in new build, refurbishment and conversion projects. Seminars can be booked directly with Link 51 at http://www.link51.com/a-dspecifier or through your local RIBA CPD office.
