Spotlight: The 1810 Company

Architecture Magazine takes a look at three concepts from The 1810 Company.

The 1810 Company
AXIX seamless technology

AXIX Seamless Technology

AXIX Seamless Technology is a unique concept that involves the combination of a solid surface, quartz or stone worktop with a purposely designed, single bowl undermount sink, which when completed gives the appearance of a steel-bottomed, material-clad sink. With no joints between the worktop material and the base of the sink, this innovative development provides the ultimate watertight solution. The seamless technology creates an impermeable sink base, which, whilst maintaining an upmarket contemporary finish, also permits the use of hot/boiling water taps. The manufacturing process follows a straightforward fabrication method, which can be completed in a regular workshop using standard tools. AXIX sinks are manufactured to the same exacting standards of every 1810 sink using 1.2mm, 304 grade stainless steel and are backed by the company??s 75-year guarantee. All 1810 sinks benefit from Insusound, a protective powder coating on the underside, which insulates the sink and helps to retain the water temperature whilst also reducing noise in instances when a waste disposal unit is installed. A full maximiser plumbing kit is also included with each sink. In keeping with current market trends, the AXIX range is available in stainless steel together with PVD (Physical Vapour Deposition) Copper, Gunmetal and Gold Brass finish in 190mm, 210mm, 450mm, 500mm and 700mm wide bowl options.

PVD makes its mark

PVD makes its mark

From door handles and light fittings through to small appliances, kitchen sinks and taps, PVD metallic finishes have truly made their mark in modern kitchen design.  The 1810 Company have lots to offer when it comes to PVD; Copper, gunmetal and gold brass sinks and accessory troughs in a choice of sizes and bowl configurations are complemented by a range of metallic finish taps. 1810??s basket strainer waste kits also come in a choice of gunmetal, copper and gold finishes for a more subtle way to introduce these marvellous metallic finishes. The 1810 Company have spent many years researching PVD technology and as a result have partnered with the industry??s most proficient and experienced company to produce our top-quality PVD coated sinks and accessory troughs. PVD or Physical Vapor Deposition, is the modern alternative to electroplating. It is a process that involves producing a thin film or coating to create a lasting and extremely durable surface in a multitude of colours and finishes. PVD provides a much more consistent and uniform covering than electroplating and is twice as hard as stainless steel. Unlike electroplating, PVD does not require a final coating and therefore eliminates any possibility of corrosion or tarnishing.
