Atlas House??, 1 King Street is an impressive Grade II Listed building, located in the City of London. The building partly dates back to 1842, has a classic façade and traditional sash windows, which could not be changed. The original windows were thermally inefficient and incapable of dealing with the high noise levels found in the City. TateHindle approached Selectaglaze, for advice and assistance as they have considerable experience of working within Listed buildings. A sympathetic design was required that achieved the standards of acoustic and thermal insulation needed. The solution was a hinged casement set with a cavity of 150mm. Full sized hinged casements were used, but in locations with lowered ceilings a high level fixed panel was introduced to allow the casement to clear. A total of 165 windows were treated.
Established in 1966 and a Royal Warrant holder since 2004, Selectaglaze has vast experience in working with all types of buildings.
