Cowen+Partners grows with five new appointments

Following a string of project wins at the end of 2024, Cowen+Partners has expanded its team with five new joiners. The practice, which recently rebranded from Jo Cowen Architects, is seeing significant growth in its strategic advisory services alongside new design-led appointments, including at Modern Wharf for Galliard Homes and City Developments Ltd.

The new team members include Mike Judd, who is joining as an Associate Director leading Living Sector projects alongside residential-led regeneration schemes. Having joined from Hawkins\Brown, Mike will be delivering for Cowen+Partners clients including Related Argent at Brent Cross.

Jo Cowen, CEO of Cowen+Partners commented: “Mike brings a wealth of experience in large-scale mixed use and residential projects, including for market sale but also build-to-rent, co-living and purpose-built student accommodation projects. It is these alternative residential sectors that we are seeing some of the highest levels of interest in among clients and investors. With Mike and the teams’ design experience alongside our professional advisory services and building regulatory framework (BSA) expertise, we are well placed to help clients maximise these opportunities in 2025.”

Mike Judd added: “It is great to join a team that is doing things differently. Cowen+Partners offers an opportunity to go beyond traditional architecture, specialising in solving complex problems for clients by combining architecture and investment expertise. The teams’ responsiveness and flexibility are well-known, and I look forward to adding my own design skills to the mix.”

The appointments follow recent consents achieved by Cowen+Partners projects including over 500 new homes in Kidbrooke Village for Berkeley Homes, achieved through a unique floorplate design; one of the last permissions to go through under LLDC for St William in Stratford and 866 new homes for Knight Dragon in Peninsular Quay, which is now progressing to delivery. Cowen+Partners also recently supported Marchmont and Peveril Securities with funding alongside the design of their now consented build-to-rent scheme, which will deliver Bournemouth’s tallest tower at 29-storeys.
