Smart solar experts Hoymiles are integrating into hybrid solar systems.
Hoymiles new products are designed to be used in hybrid solar systems, which use solar panels, batteries, and the primary grid in some cases for added reliability. Hoymiles’ hybrid inverters are integral to these systems, enabling a two-way conversion of electricity from alternating current (AC) to direct current (DC) and the other way around. The hybrid system can rotate between these two power sources based on energy production, pricing, and usage.
The inverters combine the latest in DC/AC ratio design with a 14A maximum power point tracking and a 97.6% efficiency rate, a number that is unmatched in the solar industry. The new inverters are developed to be compact and lightweight to make them easier to incorporate into a hybrid system.
The new HYS and HYT series inverters feature a custom-designed data transfer stick (DTS) that integrates smart internet connectivity into the device. The DTS allows users to remotely monitor their inverter from any location via S-Miles Cloud, Hoymiles’s cloud platform for monitoring all of their products. The DTS also allows for a simple installation and maintenance by allowing users to directly view relevant and real-time information about the inverter’s status, including current output voltage and frequency settings.
The new inverters are ready to be purchased by European and Asia-Pacific clients, while America-based clients will have to wait for the official launch planned in 2023.
Hoymiles’ Chief Technology Officer, Zhao Yi, hopes that the new inverters will help make clean energy within everyone’s reach. He explains, “By acting as a medium between solar and grid energy, hybrid inverters help people access electricity in a smarter, more flexible way while ensuring stability across the entire grid system.”
What the future holds for Hoymiles
Our blog post “Carbon Impact” emphasised the importance of decarbonising existing residential housing. Renewable energy through solar technology is one way of decarbonising existing residential housing. Harnessing solar power and efficiently combining it with grid power is the primary goal of Hoymiles’ business model.
Founded in 2012 and led by a driven engineering team, Hoymiles is paving the way for homeowners and businesses across the world to invest in open energy. Having established a stronghold in Europe and North America, they aim to have dedicated subsidiaries across both regions. The company has also established a presence in Brazil and Australia and boosted its production capacity through additional factories in China in recent years.
Last year, the Hangzhou-based company completed its initial public offering with the Shanghai Stock Exchange and raised an estimated capital of £775 million. These moves show that Hoymiles is on the verge of a significant breakthrough in the energy industry and is ready to commit deeper to its mission of providing open access to clean energy for all.
