Design without compromise

At Palram UK, polycarbonate roofing and glazing solutions start with the client. The company offer a free consultation at the beginning of every project so the team can address individual design challenges.

From roofing major commercial buildings to glazing private homes, the team work to find the smartest, most cost-effective way to bring a plan to life. P. Coleman & Associates, the designers of the Garraunkilla Market Building in Ennis, Co. Clare, Ireland, contacted Palram as the company wanted shoppers to feel as if there was nothing but sky above them, but had abandoned their beautiful original curved roof design because the glass was too heavy.

However, Palram were able to recommend and supply Sunglaze, a transparent standing seam polycarbonate roofing system which can be cold-curved on site. Using Sunglaze enabled the designers to stick to the original design without compromising on durability, light transmission or aesthetics. Palram custom manufacture the polycarbonate products at a UK plant to the client’s specific measurements and colours.

Post-fabrication, each panel is meticulously labelled to ensure fast, easy and accurate installation. This method proved to be especially helpful for the Dublin Aviva Stadium project when Palram fabricated and shipped 4,251 individually sized and shaped polycarbonate panels for the new roof. The Sunglaze and Sunpal panel systems help architects and designers control the UV levels and thermal insulation within buildings.

With an elegant appearanceand standing-seam leak-proof performance, these products allow for free thermal expansion and contraction and are engineered to withstand very high loads. From consultation to installation, aftersales care and beyond, Palram’s focus remains the same: building great one-to-one relationships with all customers so that everyone can achieve a great design without compromise.
