Vision London proves itself to be an architectural gold mine as it gears up for an impressive show in June, bringing design communities together and sharing ideas for the built environment.

Showcasing the latest building products and technology for design, interiors, and particularly architecture, Vision London 2015 opens its doors for two days on June 2 at London??s Olympia, providing the opportunity to check out its raft of products and solutions. There??s also a highly informative and worthwhile programme of seminars.

 

Vision London brings communities together to discuss, debate and showcase the latest innovations and developments in architecture, design and the built environment.

 

Over 100 organisations are exhibiting their new and inventive solutions that facilitate the creation of better building design. The event??s extensive speaker programme has gathered together some 100 influential industry figures to speak on a range of topics under the four prime themes of Future Materials & Systems, Technology, Innovation in Architecture & Design and Building for Health & Wellness.

 

Among the raft of highly informative seminar sessions, architecture is the prime component as the UK now faces pressing housing issues. Architects and designers are developing solutions that are practical and affordable, designed with community in mind. Eminent architects line up to take to the podium with their informative talks. Included are Sunand Prasad PPRIBA of Penoyre and Prasad, James Pickard of Cartwright Pickard and Jim Eyre OBE of Wilkinson Eyre.

Former RIBA President, Co-founder of Penoyre and Prasad, and a founding Commissioner of CABE, Sunand Prasad holds several key positions related to policy development and design quality. He is a member of the Mayor??s Design Advisory Panel for London and the UK Government??s Green Construction Board. At Vision London he will be speaking in the Innovative Retrofit seminar at 3.45pm on Tuesday in the extensive Architecture & Design programme.

 

James Pickard co-founded Cartwright Pickard in 1996 and has since been lead architect on numerous award-winning residential projects including the innovative Peabody Trust Murray Grove, London, housing scheme. This project snapped up nine major awards. London??s Bourbon Lane for Octavia also won RIBA and Civic Trust housing award accolades. As the only practicing architect to sit on the main board of Construction Excellence in 2005/6, James Pickard is an advisor to several Governments on innovative responses to affordable housing. At Vision London, he is participating in the Building Performance ?? Air Quality seminar at 3pm in the Wednesday Building for Health & Wellness programme.

Jim Eyre OBE is a Partner at Wilkinson Eyre, one of London??s leading architectural practices. The firm has been responsible for the redesign of Battersea Power Station since 1987. He is an active member of CABE??s Design Review panel and a trustee of the Design Council. Jim has a particular interest in multi-disciplinary projects where architectural creativity and engineering principles can be combined. At Vision London, he is speaking at the Materials of Invention seminar at 2.55pm in Wednesday??s Future Materials programme.
