Steelcase Solutions, The UK??s leading specialists in workplace interiors, have today opened new Scottish headquarters to reflect the growing investment by major companies in their office environments. Over the last year in particular there has been increasing evidence of companies improving substantially their offices in Scotland, indicating greater confidence in economic recovery.
During this period Steelcase Solutions has won contracts with BP (Grangemouth), Exxon Mobil and Chevron (Aberdeen), HSBC and Hilton Worldwide (Glasgow), RBS and Lloyds Banking Group (Edinburgh) and Cigna (Greenock). Most recently, a major contract has been secured to provide products and services to Scottish Power at their Glasgow headquarters.
Lawrence Morison, managing director of Steelcase Solutions UK says: ?The fact that we are now seeing more companies investing heavily in their real estate adds weight to the evidence that confidence is returning to the business community in Scotland. While we are realistic about progress and the economic climate remains tough, there is reason for optimism and we as a company want to be part of that. We have enjoyed substantial and rapid growth in the last three years in Scotland and this has given us an excellent platform to establish new flagship premises.??
The new Steelcase Solutions HQ is in West Regent Street, Glasgow. Morison continues: ?Most businesses are operating in an extremely competitive environment and they are making their office space ?? which is a strong strategic asset – work harder for them. More than ever before, businesses are taking heed of such issues as staff wellbeing in the workplace and the right type of space used properly says so much about a company??s brand both to staff and customers.
?There is very compelling evidence available now to suggest that a good working environment that facilitates effective collaborative working between colleagues can make a difference to a company??s bottom line. Also, in terms of attracting and retaining talent, prospective employees have a keen eye for what they see may ?? or may not ?? be a motivating and inspiring workplace.??
Steelcase Solutions is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Steelcase, the global leader in the office interiors industry.
Mark Spragg, Vice President, Steelcase, Northern Europe says: ?After 100 years in business, it is very encouraging that we are continually looking forward and to developing our businesses. Steelcase Solutions has grown from a London-centric business to having a strong reach across the UK with offices in Birmingham, Manchester, Leeds and Glasgow.
