At just 26 meters shorter than the Empire State Building, the JW Marriott Marquis Dubai is the tallest hotel building in the world. The official opening of the hotel is planned for December 2012.
The two-tower development is a landmark feature in both Business Bay and Dubai. The design of the towers was inspired by date palms, a symbol deeply entrenched in Arabian culture. The hotel will have a total of 1608 rooms, nine restaurants and five lounges.
The owner, Emirates Airline, wanted the hotel to reflect the soaring ambitions of itself and the city??s hospitality sector, by creating an iconic structure that will serve as a new benchmark.Archgroup was the design consultant on the project, which commenced in 2007.
XSPlatforms was assigned to come up with a façade access solution for the project. This resulted in four traversing window washing units, two for each tower.
