Since establishing in 2002 The New England Shutter Company is the leading international designer and manufacturer of internal plantation shutters.
In response to requests from clients, when Founder/Director Nick Garratt started the company his objective was to make shutters to the highest standard using techniques he had seen in the joinery industry.
Shutters enhance the space and light in every room and TNESC believes New England shutters need to be truly bespoke; made by carpenters using all species of joinery quality woods to look fine and elegant yet stable, strong and robust. The company build each set of shutters from start to finish for every individual client.
TNESC now supply the finest bespoke shutters to leading interior designers, architects and private customers. The carpenters in their ethically run factory produce truly hand-crafted pieces that will last for many years. They support sustainable forestry and only source woods from environmentally responsible suppliers. The New England Shutter Company is FSC® Chain of Custody certified and can supply FSC certified shutters for any project.
Shutters are available in various designs, including exclusives such as Soho; Soho blades are rebated into each other, giving an ultra-sleek panel. Also exclusive to TNESC is the New York design, specially designed for Leroy Street Studio in Manhattan, New York features a deep, angular edge profile giving the shutters a strong shadow line. Finishes available include painted Tulipwood (colour matched to any paint colour, RAL colour or sample at no extra cost) any sustainable natural wood, faux leather, suede or fabric covered and specialist finishes such as soft touch and gilded.
From ordering to fitting the whole process is streamlined and efficient; whether you order from their head office or from a TNESC distributor they offer you a peerless bespoke service.
