RIBA East has organised a brand new series of four talks in Cambridge, to be held monthly from September 2012. The talks are aimed at built environment professionals and decision makers as well as being open to anyone with a general interest in building design.
These early-evening illustrated talks will celebrate and examine the outstanding design of the four East of England recipients of an RIBA Award in 2012 and will be delivered by the project architect on each of the schemes ?? Ely-based Mole Architects, and London practices Hawkins/Brown, Stanton Williams and Cottrell & Vermeulen. There will be an opportunity to put your questions to the architects who created them.
Â
RIBA events coordinator, Delyth Turner-Harriss, comments: ?We??re thrilled and excited to be able to offer this brand new series of engaging and informative talks. Â We??re inviting those interested and involved in the built environment to make a date each month during the autumn, to join us for a glass of wine with friends and discuss some of the inspirational architecture of our region with the architects who created it.??
Â
The second talk of the series on 4th October will be held in the Sainsbury Laboratory lecture theatre. Â Shortlisted for this year??s RIBA Stirling Prize and normally closed to the public, this will give guests the opportunity to experience the building directly. The three other talks in September, November and December will be held at the Centre for Mathematical Sciences, designed by Cullinan Architects and itself a previous RIBA Award winner. The programme of talks is sponsored by Wienerberger Ltd and ET Clay Products Ltd.
Â
Tickets are available at £10 per talk or £5 for under 18??s. A combined ticket for the full series is £35 or £15 for under 18??s. Advance booking is essential. For further details visit architecture.com/east
