Undertile heating is a great choice to elevate an installation, not only is it particularly appreciated underfoot in a wetroom during colder weather but it can also be used to heat full walls, as well as create heated benches, shelves and vanity units for better handling of moisture and increased comfort. Electric undertile heating systems are an excellent choice for incorporating this provision and are generally cheap to install, quick to warm up and easy to retrofit.
The perfect solution for electric heating under tile and stone comes in the form of Schlüter®-DITRA-HEAT-E-DUO, which simultaneously heats and protects tile and stone installations. The uncoupling matting prevents cracks in the finished installation and eliminates the need for self-levelling, and its unique studded design means that the cable is easily pressed into place with no need for tape, glue or measurement. Provision of the mat and cable as separate elements means that the heating system can be custom designed around the features of a room, ensuring the most efficient use of materials.
Schlüter®-DITRA-HEAT-E-DUO is the evolution of Schlüter-Systems’ award-winning Schlüter®-DITRA-HEAT-E system and incorporates two additional features above its parent product, courtesy of a 2mm anchoring fleece layer on the underside of the system matting. This extra layer provides both a thermal break and impact sound reduction of up to 13dB (perceived as a 50 per cent reduction by the human ear). In terms of thermal break credentials, an impressive 80 per cent of the system’s output is pushed to the surface during the heat-up phase, resulting in greater heating efficiency and lower running costs. The DITRA-HEAT-E-DUO system is available in kits or as individual components, for maximum flexibility.
