BakerHicks, the multi-disciplinary design and engineering company, has been appointed to the UK Atomic Energy Authority (UKAEA) Engineering Design Services Framework to deliver a range of highly technical engineering services in support of its sophisticated UK fusion programme.
The scope of the framework covers a range of UKAEA commissions, including Joint European Torus (JET), Remote Applications in Challenging Environments (RACE) and Mega Amp Spherical Tokamak (MAST) in the UK, as well as two European projects, the International Thermonuclear Experimental Reactor (ITER) in France and European Spallation Source (ESS) in Sweden.

UKAEA manages the UK fusion programme at the Culham Centre for Fusion Energy (CCFE), one of the world??s leading fusion research laboratories. A full range of engineering design services are being sought across five Lots, including; mechanical and electrical engineering, control & instrumentation, piping, civil engineering, process engineering, building services and robotics.
