Benoy is the interior designer for the 120,000m2 retail scheme which celebrated its grand opening in 2018.

The retail development by Benoy sits within the wider 550,000m2 Luneng CC Plaza mixed-use development within the Nankai district. The scheme unites a high-end hotel, boutique shopping street, five residential towers and a Grade A office tower with the shopping mall as well as two underground metro line stations.

With its prominent location in central Tianjin and proximity to the Tianjin Water Park and Tian Ta Lake, Benoy developed the concept of a ??City park?? for the Interior Design of the six-storey mall.

Simon Wong, Director at Benoy, said, ?We wanted Luneng CC Plaza Shopping Mall to be a place of recreation for the community. A space where visitors can enjoy entertainment, retail, art, activities and great food with their friends ?? all under one roof.??

The scheme??s ??City park?? approach is brought to life through two thematic areas ?? the ??Spring park?? and the ??Winter park??. The ??Spring park?? defines the main six-storey atrium and brings Tianjin??s outdoors into the development with neutral wood detailing and bursts of decorative planting. The ??Winter garden?? defines the secondary atrium with a cooler colour palette. This design approach is carried through to the mall arcades, with interactive artistic displays and thematic rest areas providing interesting and comfortable spaces for visitors to experience and dwell within.

With its prime location and unique design, the scheme has created a strong brand appeal and attracted over 30 new-to-market brands to Tianjin alongside more than 200 stores covering entertainment, retail, dining, cinema, lifestyle and fitness.

?To see so many new brands choose the Luneng CC Plaza Shopping Mall as the platform to launch their presence in Tianjin is always exciting for us as designers ?? we feel we have succeeded in creating a destination which appeals to both the local community and visitors to the city,?? said Simon.

The Luneng CC Plaza Shopping Mall joins Benoy??s built portfolio in Tianjin, China which also includes the award-winning Riverside66.
