New Designers provides a unique platform for fresh design talent. It connects talented design graduates with businesses looking to bring in new design thinking; buyers looking to source the most innovative craft and design; and aspiring students with the widest range of design courses available to explore. Week one focuses on textiles and fashion, costume design, jewellery, ceramics and glass, contemporary crafts, while week 2 focuses on furniture, product and industrial design, spatial design and interiors, graphic design, illustration and animation and motion and digital arts.

For SWA’s cycle tour, the team will be stepping out of the office and onto the streets to explore some of its best-known London projects. Starting at art studio space Deborah House in Hackney, the group will head south to a cluster of Southwark-based schemes, including Bermondsey Cycle Station, Wardroper House and Siobhan Davies Dance Studios where guests can see inside the building and refreshments will be available. All cycling abilities welcome; bring your own bike, it’s £5 entry that goes to charity.

UK Construction Week (UKCW) is the UK’s largest construction event. UKCW is FREE to attend and welcomes 650+ exhibitors, 35,000 visitors, over 300 expert speaker line-up and over 150 hours of CPD content. With a single registration, visitors can enter the co-located sections including: Build, Building Tech, Civils, Energy & HVAC, Surface & Materials, Timber and Grand Designs Live (free entry is for 9-10 October only) and newly launched Concrete Expo (8-9 October only). Since its launch in 2015, lightspace london has been a leading event for lighting designers and architects to find new inspiration and innovation, as well as to collaborate in defining the role light plays in internal and external environments. The lightspace london exhibition curates an exclusive display of what’s new and trending in lighting design. In the lightspace conference arena, talks by authoritative experts cover award-winning case studies and outstanding lighting applications. lightspace london is also an opportunity to network across the industry: the late opening party starts at 7pm on Wednesday 13 November and it’s a great way to meet you contacts in a relaxed environment. lightspace london is co-located with LuxLive, Europe’s largest annual lighting event, and it is part of the wider Revo family, which also includes the authoritative Lighting magazine and the inspirational Lighting Design Awards.

ASLA Conference on Landscape Architecture

This November, more than 6,500 attendees will travel to San Diego, California to take part in ASLA’s Conference on Landscape Architecture. The annual conference is the largest gathering of landscape architects and allied professionals in the world. Attendees come together to learn about advancements in the field, build invaluable relationships with their peers, and see the newest and most innovative technology pushing the profession forward at the annual EXPO. ASLA is working to reduce the carbon footprint of the Conference this year. Attendees are invited to join ASLA in this effort by purchasing offsets for carbon emissions generated by conference-related travel at the time of registration. Registration is open now.
